Jordan Pass Explained: Is It Worth It?

Yes, for almost every visitor staying 3+ nights — the Jordan Pass waives your visa fee and bundles entry to 40+ sites, including Petra, Jerash, and Wadi Rum, for less than paying separately. We recommend it to every client on a 3-night-plus trip.

The Three Tiers

TierPetra AccessPrice
Jordan Wanderer1 day70 JD
Jordan Explorer2 days75 JD
Jordan Expert3 days80 JD

The price difference between tiers is small relative to Petra's standalone entrance fee, so unless you're certain you'll only visit once, the 2-day Explorer tier is the sensible default — it covers the main sites plus the Monastery trail without rushing.

What's Included Beyond Petra

All three tiers include the visa-fee waiver (a meaningful saving on its own) plus entry to Jerash, Wadi Rum, Ajloun Castle, and most sites on our Hidden Civilizations route — Qasr Kharana, Qusayr Amra, Qasr Azraq, Umm Qais, and more.

When to Skip It

If you're staying fewer than 3 nights, or if your visa is already covered another way (some nationalities and circumstances differ), run the math on entrance fees for the specific sites you'll actually visit before buying. It's not universally the better deal — just the better deal for most itineraries our clients book.

How to Buy It

Purchase online in advance at the official Jordan Pass website — you'll need your passport details and flight information. It must be bought before you arrive in Jordan to get the visa-fee waiver benefit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which tier do you usually recommend?
Jordan Explorer (2-day Petra access) for most itineraries — it covers the Treasury, the Monastery trail, and a back-door entry on separate days without feeling rushed.

Does the Jordan Pass cover everything on your itineraries?
It covers most entrance fees on our routes, though a few specialty add-ons (Petra by Night, Wadi Rum hot-air ballooning, private guide upgrades) are separate. We'll tell you exactly what's covered when we quote your trip.
