How You Get There
On our itineraries, Feynan is reached either by a full-day guided trek down from Dana village through changing microclimates — juniper woodland to desert canyon — or by 4x4 transfer for guests on a less trekking-focused route. Either way, the last stretch is off-road.
An Evening at Feynan
As the sun sets, staff light candles throughout the lodge rather than switching on electric lighting — a genuinely different atmosphere from any conventional hotel. Evenings typically include a rooftop stargazing session and a traditional Bedouin tea ceremony with local community members who help run the lodge in partnership with RSCN.
The Copper-Mining Landscape Around It
Feynan sits on a landscape worked for copper since the Bronze Age — some of the oldest continuously-worked mining terrain on Earth. An optional sunrise walk to the ancient mine shafts, with Bedouin tea afterward, is available for early risers.
